- This is a means of selection via JEE main which is a national level test. The rich start preparing for the exam from the day they come to the university and the poor students have enough trouble getting to class on time.
- BTech selections are based on the JEE Main result ranking. This would distinguish MTech candidates from B Tech or M Tech individuals who do not have the GATE qualification.
- With an announcement of the results, NIT, Rourkela cuts off the different categories (GEN, OBC, SC, ST) and ranks. Contenders who have met the minimum to be able to proceed to the next round.
