Jawaharlal Nehru University Eligibility Criteria 2024
1. Students who want to get admitted into undergraduate programs are in need of passing class 12/higher secondary exam with a minimum score and points for each program. For students of the general category, it is usually around 50-60%.
2. Students should have achieved a minimum grade at bachelor's level according to the program and category requirements. The candidate for M.Phil and Ph.D. programs should possess a postgraduate degree pertaining to the subject concerned.
3. There are concessions in the minimum eligibility marks for reserved category students like SC, ST, OBC, etc.Up to 10% relaxation may be granted.
4. Some of these like languages, international relations, etc., may require candidates to take an entrance exam or interview. The importance of exam marks differs among the programs.
5. Besides this, age limits criterion for almost every program is 30 years for master's programs and 35 years for MPhil/ Ph.D. programs. There are reserved category relaxations.
6. JNU also admits foreign nationals based on their educational qualification from their country and through an executive council approved procedure. They must write directly to specific schools/programs.

Jawaharlal Nehru University Admission Process 2024
1. Notification Check - The JNU announces admission notifications on its official website in Feb-Mar every year. Find out if you qualify, the deadline and how to apply.
2. Go Online - Only shortlisted applicants are expected to register online via the JNU admission portal and submit their application before the due date. The uploading of the essential details and documents should be done.
3. Entrance Exam - However, a few programs based on the CBT are held from mid-May onwards. Prior to the entrance exam, the students are issued with the admit cards.
4. Results - Following the examinations at the entrance, JNU announces results, a list of the shortlisted candidates who pass to the viva voce rounds. The data is published on the portal.
5. Interview Round - Viva voce (oral examination) is done by the different departments for the shortlisted candidates. Applications from this round will also be used as a basis for admission decisions.
6. Merit List - After the interviews JNU is going to publish the final merit list on its admission portal as per declared dates.
7. Allotment & Verification - Candidates have to visit centers to verify documents after allotment of seats. Subsequently you have to pay either online or offline in order to book your seats during the allotted dates of admission.
