Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is ranked as one of the prominent institutions that specializes in technology and engineering in India. IIT Bombay Eligibility Criteria 2024

1. The process of B.Tech applications calls for you to get minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST students) in terms of physics, chemistry and mathematics for 12th class (10+2) equivalent.
2. Your chance to participate in the JEE Advanced would be visualized if you are shortlisted for it. Counting of applicants and seats yearly, dictates the minimum cut-off marks.
3. For MTech courses, you normally need to have a BTech/BE or degree of equivalent, and your subject should be relevant for that, plus you must have a good academic record. Almost all MTech courses require the students to pass the GATE exam as an admission criterion.
4. Admission to Ph.D. recognizes 60% of post graduate score and best values in case of B. Tech. While some programs incure GATE/CSIR-UGC NET or National Eligibility Test eligibility that is held on national level.
5. The formal age limit is unclear and penetrable but the vast majority of the programs are oriented to applicants below 28-30 as well as 32-35 years old for master’s and for PhD programs correspondingly.

IIT Bombay Courses Details 2024

IIT Bombay imparts Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. courses in the area of engineering and sciences. The major undergraduate program that is the BTech course lasts for four years. Majors like Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Metallurgical Engineering are among the majors it covers along with others. Admission is by JEE Advance, an equally competitive college-level entrance test. 

The master's programs cover 2years of MTech, MSc, as well as interdisciplinary MSc-PhD dual degree programs. The sections most important to mention are Aerospace, Energy Systems, Climate Studies, Applied Statistics & Informatics. The assessments for admissions can be based on the GATE or CEED or NET scores.

IIT Bombay still has an impressive list of the best recruiters in the country who are ready to shell out the top pay packages and best job offers to its graduates. Through this campus placements, 250 companies availed the opportunity and over 80% students were placed by the time the recruitment process was concluded. This median salary of Rs 28 lakh per annum was amongst the highest.
