HORTICET (Horticulture Common Entrance Test) is a national common entrance examination, which is conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at the national level for admission to the graduate and post graduate courses in agriculture related to horticulture only, offered by the agricultural universities in the country of India. It is like a single idl that separates students who are able to study horticulture science field and allied branches. IN HORTICET the topics of BOTANY, CHEMISTRY, MATHEMATICS, PHYSICS, AGRICULTURE etc are taught. This exam is held once a year, mostly in July. The questions in the exam will be of the objective type, which will be framed in a multiple choice format. In August, the exam authority, SHRI, provides information of the HORTICET answer keys and results on its official site. 

The HortiCET scores are required for admission into accredited bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs in areas such as BSc Horticulture, MSc Horticulture, MSc Forestry, etc, which are offered by many top agricultural universities in the country. HORTICET 2024 would most likely be held in July, the month of which is subject to the release of the final exam dates. The online registration procedure will begin 2 months before that, presumably in May 2024. The students can collect their admit cards from the university office in early June. According to the anticipated time, the outcomes of HORTICET 2024 exam are likely to be announced in the month of August 2024 on the exam portal.

Documents Required for Apply HORTICET Exam 2024

1. Candidate’s image may contain all the details in the appropriate form. The size of an image should be at least between 4.5cm x 3.5cm and signature box is required to be 3cm x 1.5cm.

2. Importance of uploading scanned copy of community/category certificate while applying under reserved category. Papers of caste and income are needed.

3. Scanned copy of study certificates - candidates required to submit a copy of their 10th/SSC mark sheets for proof of birth date and other certificates for admission in the applied course. 

4. Copy of Aadhar card through scanning.

5. Details of application fee payment. It is applicant’s responsibility. The application can be payed online or through an e-challan at the banks at the cashier point.

6. Proof of address - The candidate requires to present the place where s/he lives and should be ready with documents to support the address details.
