The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT-K) stands as a multi-disciplinary institution delivering undergraduate, post-graduate as well as doctoral programs in engineering, science, design and humanities fields. IIT Kanpur Admission Process 2024

1. The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is the way to take students for under graduate course at IIT but it happens in the two stages – JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The first step of JEE is to clear the JEE Main exam and all those students who perform well in this examination are selected for JEE Advanced only.
2. A student will be qualified to be admitted in the postgraduate program if he or she does well in the national level exams like GATE, NET or the admission exams conducted by the university once they are held. The admission process for certain the programs also involves this type of tests conducted by IIT Kanpur.
3. IIT Kanpur has research scholar programs of doctoral (Ph.D.) level courses. Entry is given based on qualification ways, whether national/state level entrance examinations or the final step which is usually a personal interview. Research Proposal, Academic Record as well as Work Experience are also taken into account.
4. In the case of undergraduate admissions , JEE Main scores are used for seat allocation by the IITs and NITs during joint preference based allocation. The merits of the applicants are measured by not only the admission test scores but also the academic records, research prospects, etc.
5. The criteria for being enrolled into college is a compulsory condition to the IIT Kanpur program requirements besides others having an educational background, the marks obtained in examinations and subjects in accordance with the program.
