HPCET is a state level entrance exam, held by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) for the admissions to B.E., B.Tech., M.Pharm., Pharm.D., B.Arch., and MBA/MCA programs, offered by institutes in Himachal Pradesh. HPCET exam assesses students knowing about physics, chemistry, maths, biology or computer science. It is a stationary paper-and-pen based test that has total of 150 objective-type questions and a candidate has 3 hours time frame to complete the work and submit it.
The HPCET test is normally conducted in the month of June in either the second or the third week of every year. The provisional dates for JEE-Mains 2024, that is from June 10 to June 20, 2024 are the admissions for the examinations. The details of the date would be shared by the HPTU in a later date in time. The result of HPCET exam is announced after 10-15 days of the exam. The answer key is out first and then the results are out. The latter is also displayed on the main website of the HPTU by default. It contains roll number, exam marks, and qualifying status. It is the basic. Further to this, depending on the applicants’ HPCET standardized testing results and their own choices, a joint counselling session is held among all the participating colleges in Himachal Pradesh.

Not more than 25 years on the 1st day of the academic session for which admission is sought.

Number of Attempts
A candidate can appear for a maximum of two attempts in HPCET.

The candidate must be a bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh for a minimum period of five years immediately preceding the last date of submission of the application form.
