WBJEE JENPAS UG Overview 2024 FAQs

WBJEE is the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, conducted for admission to various undergraduate courses in engineering, technology, architecture, and pharmacy in colleges across West Bengal. JENPAUH is the Joint Entrance Examination for Nursing, Paramedical, and Allied Sciences, conducted for admission to nursing and allied health science courses in West Bengal.

The eligibility criteria vary for both exams. Generally, for WBJEE, candidates need to have completed 10+2 or its equivalent with specific subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for engineering courses. For JENPAUH, candidates should have completed 10+2 with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects for nursing and allied health science courses.

Applications for both exams are typically submitted online through the official websites. You need to fill out the application form, provide necessary details, upload required documents, and pay the application fee. Make sure to follow the guidelines provided in the official information brochure.

The exam patterns differ. WBJEE consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in three subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. JENPAUH also consists of MCQs in subjects like Biological Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, and English.

Yes, both WBJEE and JENPAUH typically have negative marking. For every incorrect answer, a certain number of marks are deducted from the total score.

The syllabus for both exams is based on the curriculum of the relevant subjects at the 10+2 level. The exam conducting authorities release detailed syllabi that outline the topics and subtopics from which questions are asked.

Both WBJEE and JENPAUH are typically conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode, where candidates need to mark their answers on an OMR sheet.

Based on the exam scores, a merit list is prepared. Candidates are then called for counseling and seat allocation based on their ranks and preferences.

The WBJEE exam consists of two papers - Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry combined). Paper 1 has 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and Paper 2 has 40 MCQs in Physics and 40 MCQs in Chemistry. Each question has four options, and candidates need to choose the correct one. The total duration for each paper is two hours.

In WBJEE, Paper 1 (Mathematics) carries a maximum of 100 marks. Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry combined) carries a total of 100 marks for Physics and 100 marks for Chemistry, making the total marks for Paper 2 to be 200. Each correct answer generally carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 1/4th of the marks for each incorrect answer.

The JENPAUH exam consists of four subjects - Biological Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, and English. The total number of questions and marks may vary from year to year. Generally, there are around 50 questions in Biological Sciences and around 25 questions each in Physics, Chemistry, and English. The questions are multiple-choice in nature.

The WBJEE is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB), which is the government agency responsible for organizing various entrance exams in West Bengal. Similarly, JENPAUH is also conducted by the WBJEEB.

As of my last update in September 2021, both WBJEE and JENPAUH exams are typically conducted in offline mode, which means candidates need to use pen and paper to mark their answers on the provided OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheets.

The exam dates for both WBJEE and JENPAUH can vary from year to year, but they are generally held in the months of April or May. It's recommended to check the official websites for the most up-to-date information on exam dates.

Yes, both WBJEE and JENPAUH question papers are usually available in two languages: English and Bengali. Candidates can choose the language in which they are more comfortable while appearing for the exam.

While there might not be a specific dress code mentioned in the exam guidelines, it's advisable to wear comfortable and appropriate clothing. Avoid wearing any attire with pockets, zippers, or metallic embellishments, as these might be subject to scrutiny during the security check.
