IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology Admission Process
- Admissions to IITs are through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) which has two stages - JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students have to first clear JEE Main and score high enough to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
- JEE Main is the basic qualifying exam for JEE Advanced. It is used for admission to NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutions.
- Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualifiers are allowed to sit for JEE Advanced exam which is conducted by any of the IITs on a rotational basis.
- To get into IIT Guwahati specifically, students have to score high ranks in JEE Advanced. Ranks are allocated based on performance in JEE Advanced.
- Apart from ranks, students also have to meet minimum subject and aggregate qualifying marks percentages set by Joint Admission Board (JAB).

IIT Guwahati Eligibility Criteria 2024
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects. Minimum aggregate marks required vary for different categories.
