Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is national in its nature and conducted in order to get into the Bachelor of Design (BDes) program offered by IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur. The exam is intended to test the candidate’s aptitude for design which should give the evidence of the candidate's visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, and analytical thinking. A face-to-face interview is held every year and is supervised by the UCEED office at IIT Bombay. 

The UCEED test consists of two parts, Part A tests the visual orientation and perception skills and Part B assesses skills like drawing and sketching. The exam held in January is a yearly event each year. The UCEED examfor 2024 is scheduled for Saturday January 20, 2024, for the session. Results for UCEED ( 2024 ) are anticipated and declared by the 1st week of March 2024 on the official website. Candidates who would be able to do so, would be given an opportunity to attend counselling sessions and would be allowed to submit applications for various courses, courses and colleges, based on their rank, preferences and availability of seats. The counseling details will be made available at the same time the results is released.

UCEED Admit Card 2024 FAQs

UCEED is a university-wide common entrance examination for design. It is an all-India level entrance test designed especially for eligibility to B.Des course at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur.

I have been studying for more than a year but yet I am unsure of where I belong in society. We simply are not bound by the word age.

UCEED takes care of drawing, visualization, observational, design thinking, analytical and logical reasoning skills through various means of tests. There are two papers: Paper 1: To reconstruct the lost worshippers, they also depict their appearance through visualizations and drawings. Paper 2: General ability test (GAT)

It is a 3-hour written-down test. Assignment 1 (Paper 1) is of 240 marks, the latter (Paper 2) carries 60 marks. Both sections are compulsory.

A special attention should be devoted to representation of 3D objects, anatomic figures. Visualization and imagination development is also of prime importance. Solve previous years papers. Let us try mock tests for the recognition of paper patterns and better-management of time.

No, this instrument is not a directional. However, in order for you to get a place in ACEM it is necessary to meet the qualifying marks in Paper 1.
