The Institute of Indian Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur or IIT KGP) is an public technical and research university situated in Kharagpur, a small town in West Bengal. The engineering school was inaugurated in 1951 and it was the very first IIT that came up by the Government of India. This Institute of National Importance is officially known as Indian Institution of Technology Kharagpur. 

The IIT Kharagpur offers a wide spectrum of courses in the fields of engineering, sciences, management, law, and humanities for undergraduates and postgraduates. IIT Kharagpur Eligibility Criteria 2024

1. JEE (Advanced) is taken for admissions into B.Tech course with published cut-off marks by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Students will be also required to score at least 75% marks in the H.S.C. exams (or rank among top 20 percentile in the board exam).
2. For MTech and MS students will be required to pass the GATE exam or have GMAT or GRE scores that are currently valid. In addition to this, the departments would determine the bachelor degree as the minimum level of education.
3. Students need to have a score of GATE/ CEEB / NET or any other nation-level exam in order to secure their PhD places. Notable necessity is having a master degree that is relevant and current. Different departments focus on some students' interviews and they are selected based on their performance in the interview.
4. There is no tension in the amount given to the student who is from the reserved category which is governed by the government rules.
5. In addition to those, students are subject to such basic requirements as age restrictions, and the physical fitness standards set by the IIT Kharagpur. The applicant can be expatriate citizen from those countries too and can go with aliens’ program.
