CAT, being a national-level entrance test designed by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission into their programs of study like Master of Business Administration (MBA), Post Graduate Program (PGP), PGPEM, PGPEX, Executive PGPEM, and Fellow Program in Management (FPM), is a requirement for every candidate seeking for admission into IIM. The CAT examination is perhaps India`s most hotly-contested exam with an applicant pool of over 2 lakh candidates appearing for it every year. 

The main aim of the exam is to measure candidates’ proficiency in the three main areas – quantitative ability, data interpretation and logical reasoning, and verbal ability and reading comprehension – as reflected in 100 multiple-choice questions, which need to be answered within two hours and thirty minutes. The candidates are marked out of the maximum of 300 marks in the exam. For the academic year 2024-25, IIM Calcutta has been entrusted with the responsibility of announcing the CAT exam dates by July 2023. While the exact dates are unknown, it is going to be most likely in November/December 2024. CAT trends normally on the first three weeks after the exam. Their ultimate aim has to be completing a separate application form at their specific IIMs and other B-schools which consider CAT scores and then attend the selection rounds of GD, WAT and PI.

Documents Required For CAT Exam Registration 2024

- 10th standard mark sheet: 10th grade standard certificate being your date of birth documentation at the time of CAT registration is also required as a proof of age. 

- Graduation degree certificate (for final year students): The latter year students need to upload a scanned copy of the degree certificate of their college or the authenticity completion certificate with the final grade. 

- SC/ST/OBC/PwD certificate (if applicable): Songs that reflect the true ideas, thoughts and the life of the oppressed people. Social justice will also be furthered by introducing valid caste certificates for those categories. TCD for persons with Development Disabilities.

- Scanned images: Scanned photograph, signature image scans and left thumb impression scans are some of the prerequisites required for accomplishing CAT registration.

- Payment: The payment for the course registration fee would need to be transferred via online payment tools, inclusive of credit card, debit card or internet banking.
