The joint Admission Test for M.Sc., (JAM) is a National level competitive examination, conducted in each calendar year by the IITs in a round robin fashion. It is conducted for the purpose of admission of the students into the programs of M.Sc, the Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D dual degree and the other postgraduate science courses at the IITs, NITs, IISc and other institutes like IISER. IIT JAM 2024 Score:Candidates must have qualified in the IIT JAM 2024 exam with a valid score.

Bachelor's Degree:Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Science or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).

Age Limit:There is no upper age limit for admission to M.Sc. and M.Tech. programs through IIT JAM counselling. However, there is an upper age limit of 28 years for admission to Ph.D. programs.
The age limit is calculated as on July 31st of the year of admission.
Nationality:Indian citizens and foreign nationals are eligible to apply for admission to M.Sc. and M.Tech. programs through IIT JAM counselling. However, only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. programs.
