National Aptitude test in Architecture

NATA is the flagship entrance test being conducted by the concerned authority at the national level for aspiring architects seeking 5-year BArch course in different recognised institutes and universities across India. The NATA is an architectural aptitude test which examines a candidate's talent using a competitive objective where applicants will be tested in their drawing skills, imagination ability, observation skills, and aesthetic sensitivity in inner self. It is a 2-hour paper which is conducted by a convenient mode of online and it has both objective as well as drawing-based question. 

NATA scores and marks in Class 12th Board exams are two main components for institutes to generate the admission list. The students for whom even 16 days are a lot are announced the results of the entrance exam within a few weeks. In evening, selected candidates undergo institute-specific round PD for seat designated and verification of the documents in the final phase followed by confirmation of the admission.

However, as per the present syllabus, the Council of Architecture (CoA) will be conducting the NATA 2024 entrance exam in a compressed duration in the months of April and July of this year. Registration is done during well ahead of that time. Interested applicants for the Architecture degree programs for 2024 need to carefully go through the NATA 2024 information bulletin and notification schedules communicated to CoA by next year before filing an application.

NATA Reservation of Seats 2024

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national-level entrance exam for admission to Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) programs in India. The Council of Architecture (CoA) conducts the NATA every year. The NATA reservation of seats policy is as follows:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 15%
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27%
  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10%

These reservations are applicable to all NATA participating institutions, including government and private institutes.

Documents Required for NATA Exam Registration 2024

1. Personal Details: The given personal details such as email address, mobile number among others

2. Qualifying Examination Details: Details of the qualifying tests that you have/ will have passed, such as the relevant 10+2 or equivalent level.

3. Scanned Images: The attachment of your recent photo scanned image and signature according to the instructions given as to the format and size.

4. ID Proof: Scanned be reproduction of a valid photo identity proof ready (either Aadhar card or driving license or passport).

5. Address Proof: Scanned image of any authenticated evidence of address such as Aadhar card, passport, ration card etc.

6. Education Proof: Scanned copies of SSC and HSC marksheet or passing certificate for 10th or 12th.

7. Scout & Guide Certificate (if applicable): Being relaxed with regards to qualification or application charges is the.

8. Caste Certificate (if applicable): Hence, through this amendment within the 103rd constitution (Amendment) Bill, we can claim reservation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates.  

9. PWD Certificate (if applicable): Candidates for personnel with disabilities filed a request for benefits and their applications were processed and approved as long as they are qualified.

10. Payment: Credical/debit cards, internet banking, and UPI are payment modes available for fee payment.
