Eligibility:

- Masters degree to a field of your choice with a minimum of 60% marks in any of the subjects of choice. Relaxation for reserved categories.

- Besides, also, candidates from final year of Master's program are permitted for the application.

Documents Required:

- Completed application form 

- 10th onwards from annual results recorded and final certificates showing the respective results.

- GATE/NET or similar equivalent qualification certificates, which if applicable.

- No Objection Certificate (if used in job).

- Past experience certificate, if any.

- Passport size photos

- Evidence of the Date of Birth 

- Recommendation letters

Admission Process:

- Alongside entrance test, interview can be scheduled if needed.

- Interviews held for apprising research fair.

- Seats and research positions whether in high academic profile or not depend on vacancies available with professors.

NIT Rourkela Ph.D Selection Criteria

- Candidates should be holders of a master's degree in the area of study with a legal 60% mark or equivalent CGPA. A relaxation to cut off marks offered to SC/ST/PH candidates in accordance with government norms.

- Candidates may be voted for based on their performance in their Written Essay Test and/or Interview that is conducted by NIT Rourkela. The selection process looks into attributes such as research skill, academic depth, communication skill among others.

- To ensure admission to PhD degree for a candidate, they have either to qualify either the GATE/UGCNET or equivalent exam with valid score. This is a crucial element for determining the most appropriate measures to be implemented among nursing professionals.

- Candidates who get the opportunity to serve as sponsors from public sector(s), state institutions, research institutions, industry etc. can be preferred or get the relaxation in the timeline of joining the qualification exam.

- The Doctoral Scrutiny Committee has to propose the students based on its recommendations and then the final approval is the Chairman Senate's right.

- Some other determinants like professional experience, research publications, participations in conferences etc. can also be used to judge a candidate’s research aptitude along with the above described criterion.

- Offer of jobs under research director, in addition to existence of required infrastructure and facilities, also has an effect on the choice.
