National Institute of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala) is one of the leading public engineering and technology university in North Eastern India situated at Agartala, Tripura. It is an Institute of National Importance and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) of the Govt. of India. It offered Grade A accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in 2022. NIRF Ranking 2023 also given the NIT Agartala a rank of 74 among all the engineering colleges in India.  

Currently, NIT Agartala provides the degrees in under graduate and post graduate in the fields of engineering, science, and arts. The B.Tech. beads are in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. These courses offered at BTech level, and candidates have to appear for JEE Mains and then go through the counselling session. NIT Agartala also has M.Tech courses also for the students to get into the field of Technology., M.Sc. and in Doctoral degree programmes in several disciplines. For instance, the admission process normally starts in March every year and the exams are held in May –June.

NIT Agartala consistently boasts of a commendable placement record with esteemed organizations as Microsoft, Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, L&T, Mahindra & Mahindra to name a few who have listed NIT, Agartala as their recruitment zone. The aptitude of the students in the final campus placements was as impressive in 2022 where more than 92 percent of the students got selected in renowned firms. The maximum salary of the companies were Rs. 43.33 LPA and the average salary which the companies offered was Rs. 10.8 LPA. Some of the leading companies that have been active on the campus include the public sector entities like GAIL, ONGC, IOCL, NTPC, BHEL and some of the product and core engineering companies. These factors have ensured that the institute maintains high standards of achievement and has been gaining popularity among the aspirants.
