The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is a private university situated in Dehradun, which is the capital city of Uttarakhand, in India. In 2003, it was established and among the top three Indian institutions for engineering, management, and applied geosciences education are now being rated. With over 115 graduate, post graduate and doctoral programs specializing in different fields and faculties, UPS brings a plethora of options to the table. The institute provides multiple B.Tech courses including, but not limited to, Mechanical Engineering and MBA in Oil & Gas Management. Mechanical Engineering course offered by B.Tech concentrates on innovative design, industrial robotics, and manufacturing, and this course has a pedagogy that includes hands on activities, labs, and workshops. The mission of the MBA Oil & Gas Management program is to develop professionals ready to take up leadership roles in the energy industry, having different majors in petroleum operations or energy trading. Examinations at UPES Institute are conducted either online or offline including modalities such as closed, open, and case-based hypothetical formats. The UPES MEAT aptitude test, group discussion and one on one interview in the major cities of India are the part of UPES student admission process. Finalists are dully required to attend the university counseling session to enable the confirmation of admission for the 2024 academic year. - 12th class or equivalent examination and must have secured minimum 60% in three core science subjects (physics, chemistry and mathematics) at least 55% marks for reserved candidates for the undergraduate programs.
