Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024

- Educational Qualification: The qualification encompasses at least a pass of 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as mandatory subjects.

- Minimum Marks: The additionally poses an extra challenge to general category candidates by making them achieve a minimum mark of 60% in 10+2. 55% is taken as cut-off for the SC/ST category candidates.

- Entrance Exams: The candidates who clear the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main which is conducted by the National Testing Authority (NTA) will only be considered for the further admission process. Offers of admission will be made on the basis of rank/scores from JEE Main.

- Age Limit: The age limit is not mentioned and hence there is no restriction with regard to the age for seeking admission to IIEST. However, candidates have to have completed 10+2 examination of the respective year of admission but not before that. 

- Subject Combinations: The key is that the candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in their 10+2 level eligibility. The other subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Computer, Biology, Electronics are also eligible with PCM.

- State Quota: As a centrally funded insitution, allotted seats under state quotas for the local candidates of West Bengal who is domicile are present in IIEST.
