Shri Mata Vaishnavi Devi University is a private university in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in Kakryal, Katra. SMVDU was set up in the year 1999; UGC recognized university and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the university with ‘A’ Grade. By NIRF Rankings 2023, SMVDU has been placed among the 101-150 universities in the India ranking.
The university boasts of its programs that include undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral programs in different fields including engineering, science, management, humanities and social sciences among others. Some of the popular courses offered are B.Tech., MBA, BBA, M.Tech., M.Sc., and Ph.D. The admission process starts in April each year and selected candidates are required to take the SMVDUEE or other national level tests like JEE Mains, GATE etc. The exam dates for the year 2024 will be put on the website soon.
SMVDU is proud of its placement record with giants such as Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance, Infosys, TCS, and Cognizant. As per the placement statistics of IIT Hyderabad, about 85% of the 2021-22 batch got placed at an average salary of 7 LPA and the highest salary deal is 43 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, cognizant, Infosys, mphasis, amazon, reliance jio, capgemini, flipkart, JP Morgan chase & co, Wills towers watson, Nagarro, allscripts and united healthcare group Optum. The university was established in 1984 and has been consistently ranked high for its placement record, with over 90% of students getting placed in reputed companies. A few of the famous recruiters are Tata consultancy service, cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, IOCL, ONGC, SAIL and many more. The maximum of the salary packages provided was Rs 27.5 lakhs per annum by Microsoft. The average salary offered is satisfactory and currently hovers at 6.8 lakhs per annum. It is for these reasons that the existing companies call for SMVDU students for recruitment in the organizations as they are skilled in practical knowledge of subjects.
