IIT Delhi Master of Design [M.Des] (Industrial Design) Admission 2024

Eligibility
Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, Architecture, or other discipline and minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST). Valid score in CEED (Common Entrance Examination in Design).
Documents Required
Completion of online form, CEED scorecard, 10th, 12th marksheets and certificates, Bachelor degree certificate and transcripts, Diploma/Degree certificates, Caste certificate (if SC/ST candidate), Work experience certificates, Design portfolio, Statement of Purpose, Recommendation letters, Passport size photographs.
Admission Process
Show up for the CEED exam first, Get through the CEED cut-off created by the IIT Delhi, Apply online and upload the documents, Only the shortlisted candidates are called for a studio test and/or interview. The ultimate list of merits ranks CEED score, portfolio, and interview competence. Admission offer made to the shortlisted candidates.

IIT Delhi Master of Design [M.Des] (Industrial Design) Selection Criteria

1. The candidates should hold a degree in design, engineering, architecture and related fields with a minimum of 55% marks(50% for SC/ST).
2. The selection is done by two-stage process: first DAT (design aptitude test) and then an interview.
3. The DAT seeks to measure the candidate's ability to work creatively. DAT is a studio test lasting 3 hours, which includes sketching, designing, visualization, etc. They shortlist the candidates based on the DAT scores and call them for the interviews.
4. During the interview phase, participants are evaluated on the basis of their creative skills, design thinking, prior experience, communication skills, interest and willingness to join the program.
5. The final decision is made upon the performance of the candidate on the DAT and the personal interview. Both the DAT and the personal interview are rated on a 100 point scale. Dat has 75% weight while interview carries 25% weight.
6. Alongside this, CEED test score corroboration can be supplied to boost DAT performance during final selection, though qualification at CEED is not a must.
