Savingh Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, that is currently a deemed-to-be university, is situated in Chennai, India. Islamic University of Technology was formed in 2005 and it is one of the major medical and technical training institutions of the country. SIMATS is one of those colleges which boasts of many undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students in different disciplines like medicine, dentistry, engineering and physiotherapy just to mention a few.

Among facilities that the institution possesses, it is worth mentioning that the student can utilize quality infrastructure and also has access to good learning resources. Among the SIMATS undergraduate programs are BDS and BE Computer Science programs. The BDS program aims to train students in the aspects of medicine and surgery that are particular to the discipline of dentistry. The BE Computer Science major is designed for courses such as software development, data analytics, ML, etc. 

All things considered, the mid-term examinations that are given for the winter semester in October-November and those for the summer semester, which are usually held in April-May, follow each other every year. Candidate admission process for 2024 at SIMATS starts from May 2023. Selection of the candidates is also through the SIMATS Entrance Test (SET) and previous qualifying examination marks. The applications can be submitted either by the online or offline method. The seats are fewer and the admission chance is really low.

- The institution offers medical, dental, engineering, physiotherapy, healthcare, and nursing continuously at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

- There are main 2 exams which are required for undergrad medical (MBBS) and dental (BDS) admissions. One is NEET and the other is AIPMT. Admission is taken as per NEET ranking.

- Engineering admissions for candidates are only after passing in SEET- an exam set by Saveetha itself. Eligibility is based on SEEE ranking.

- Regarding Physiotherapy, Nursing, and allied health Sciences, entrance test is common and conducted by the institute itself. The admission is offered on the basis of your marks in the qualifying exam i.e. Class 12 boards and the entrance test.

- Offered in addition to this is the separate entrance exam for the Ph.D. courses. The admissions are made on the basis of your exam’s score, Graduation level, and an Interview.

- Candidates must not only meet the criteria for entrance examinations, but they are also called upon to provide evidence of their academic qualifications. This includes meeting the age-limit, requirement for the concerned qualifying examination and the stipulated marks.

- Admission into undergraduate programs sees that board exam score of Grade 12 and entrance test scores are considered. As for the postgraduate programs level, the undergraduate degree results/grade also contribute.

- Besides intellectually meritocratic via entrance tests, some places are allotted through 'Management Quota' in various programmes.
