Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test

The Common Entry Test for Tamil Nadu (TANCET) is abbreviated as this. It is the Test centered on by Anna University, Chennai every year that is conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu. TANCET is conducted to help the selection of students for the Postgraduate Degree Program like MBA, MCA, M.E, M.Tech, M.Arch and M.Plan which are offered by government, government aided and self financing colleges of Tamil Nadu. The candidates will be evaluated for verbal, quantitative, communicative, reasoning and data interpretation ability available in management education and IT programs. The test includes multiple-choice questions with total of three sessions: each section lasts for 90 minutes.

In 2024, TANCET exams was written by 35,000 candidates and the dates were from May to August. The verdict was proclaimed on the 30th of September 2023. Concerning the 2024 exams, the tents dates will be revealed in a general council meeting in the month of December this year by Anna university. Most probably, the exam will be undertaken in the early summer months – May to July. The results would be out up to 2 months after the date of the exam. Following the demarche of the results of TANCET, the admission and counselling based on the rank will be done according to the schedule put out by the government. TANCET web site will be regularly updated with exam dates, time-table and syllabus. Thus, the candidates are advised to visit the official website more often.
