GITAM University Hyderabad is an accredited educational institution in Telangana, India and it offers degree programs at the bachelors and masters levels. Considered to be one of the three campus of the GITAM University that is situated in Visakhapatnam, it was founded in 2008. The engineering college, GITAM Hyderabad, offers study choices like undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in fields such as Information Technology, Science, Management, Law and Architecture among others. 

This university features infrastructure with cutting-edge technologies spread across a sprawling campus and the main focus lies on innovation, scholarly research and student holistic development. These most sought-after courses that colleges run are BTech CSE and ECE respectively. Giving exams for these programs for the two semesters will usually take place in the November-December period and the April-May period. 

Students who wish to get admitted to BTech program for the batch of 2024 will have their admission process beginning in November 2023. Students should break into the JEE Main, GITAM GAT or TS EAMCET, the common entrance test held at the national and state level. According to the marks acquired and performance, they will prepare merit lists in which they will rank their favorite branches, and then lists of final allotments will be released. We will kick off our group in the summer of 2024 that is July.

GITAM University Eligibility Criteria 2024

- The candidates should hold 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum percentages depending on the specific program. Minimum 50% marks required in CBSE/ICSE boards for students and minimum 60% of marks by state boards.

- Those who aspire to join engineering programs needs to have passed subjects of Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics in 10+2. Thereby, students must be competent in these subjects to be able to join these programs.

- The students who desire to study architecture should have a prior knowledge of Mathematics not only because a solid foundation of Math is the basis of all engineering curricula.

- If the pharmacy program involves Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics, the students need to have studied these subjects before applying here.

- A 10+2 degree in Management and Computer Application Programs is sufficient. 

- For the applicants to be eligible to compete for the available slots, they will be supposed to take entrance tests like GITAM GAT, JEE Main, CAT/MAT/XAT exams which are relevant for the course in whichever university they will want to enroll.

- The quota of 5% relaxation for marking of SC/ST category students is now abolished.

- College graduates may progress to the second year, which is the intermediate year, when entering the engineering/pharmaceutics/architecture programs.

GITAM University Admission Process 2024

1. Application Form:

- Students seeking to apply for a program may do so either online by visiting the university website to download the application form or physically at the admissions office, where they will obtain the same form. All required documents must be attached to the form submitted.

2. Entrance Exam: 

- GITAM offers students the only gateway in the form of its own entrance exam GITAM Admission Test (GAT) for entry into most undergraduate and postgraduate programs. GAT is meant to evaluate individuals' general ability, logic, and subject-wise competence.

3. Merit List:

- Based upon that, merit lists are prepared for each program following the GAT results and the 12th-grade board exam scores./qualification. Applicants are accepted into their college as per their position in the merit list.

4. Counseling: 

- Candidates who are checked and go through formation are invited to counseling based on the planning schedule. The documents, applications, and additional eligibility criteria will be double-checked in this step. Seat will be allocated based on the results of counseling and there is a branded cost for the same.

5. Admission Confirmation:

- If seats are assigned to a student during the counseling session, the student is supposed to pay their admission/semester fees before the deadline through which they will be able to confirm their admission.
