Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), a highly regarded public university in Kochi, Kerala, is one of the landmarks in the educational growth of the state. The institution was founded in 1971 and is currently known as one the best university in India for science and humanities teaching and research. The university has a large and diverse array of academic programs at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels in nine faculties and more than 50 departments in total.

Some of the courses CUSAT has people going crazy for are B.Tech Computer Science Engineering and MSc Marine Biology. The B.Tech CSE major encompasses course works in many of the necessary topics including software engineering, data structures, operating systems, DBMS, and so on. The MSc marine biology is equipped with a number of subjects such as marine ecology, biological oceanography, sustainable fisheries management, marine microbiology, and more.

The College of Engineering and Science will be hosting the coming semester exams in January, 2024, probably in the second week of the month. The schedule for the odd semester exams will be May 2024 but end semester exams for the even semester are held in the October period of every year. 

Admission process for 2024 will be conducted from 2023 with entrance tests which will be followed by the announcement of scores. Then the counseling will be done and then admissions is granted on the basis of national level entrance tests like GATE, CAT, CUSAT CAT, etc. or on the basis of merit in qualifying examinations.

Cochin University of Science and Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024

- For undergraduate programs: Proceed if your educational profile still allows you to get into the different programs which require certain subjects. The minimum aggregate rules per the programs vary, but are often 50% or more.

- For postgraduate programs: In addition to meeting the minimum percentage criteria, which is usually 50-55%, there should be a bachelor's degree in the relevant field. Some programs, besides additional features; may have additional requirements.

- For MPhil and PhD programs: Note that a relevant master's degree is usually needed while minimum percentage ranging from 55% or higher is stipulated. Entrance exam and/or interview can be held to serve as eligibility criterion. Research proposal writing is another way of assessing the students.

- There is the same situation with OBC candidates and Schedule Tribes (SC/ST etc.) who get the relaxation in minimum percentage of marks required to pass the qualifying exam.

- Foreigners/NRI candidates face the difference in the application process and some relaxations in being ranked criteria.

- The extra parameters like entrance test, aptitude test, interview etc. will make some programs only the most competitive ones.

- Palakunnathu Computer Science College, Palakkad University conducts its own entrance examination called as CUSAT CAT and the examination is for admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The test is organized in different assess occasions.

- Alongside the CUSAT CAT scores, admissions follow the criterion of academic scores received in the qualifying exams like Class 12th examinations. Entrance to different programs requires meeting certain standard grades.

- Applicants can apply online on the official website of CUSAT or can buy application forms from the banks selected for this purpose by the university. Applicants within the earmarked period should use online form or offline form as the method of filling the application form. 

- Along with filling the form, essential papers that prove one's age, academic certificates, entrance exam admit cards, etc. are needed to be uploaded while filling the CF or produced at the time of counseling.

- In the case of undergraduate programs, allotment of seats and counseling are carried out over several rounds, as per merit based on entrance exam scores, qualifying exam marks and reservations etc. 

- Similarly, for M.Tech postgraduate programs GATE cuttoff varies from one state and college to another. There are certain institutes who directly accept M.Tech applications from students with a valid GATE score above the specified mark. For them, there is a choice between the exam. 

- Students who have been selected are expected to acknowledge their offers by paying all dues as stipulated before the set deadlines and in accordance with the allotment list. Classes can start from June July each year.
