- JEE Main, a national level entrance test conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency), is the mode of admission into these colleges. The candidates must have to pass JEE main by obtaining cutoff marks demanded by the exam.

- Admissions are open to the top-rankers of JEE Main. The higher the rank of the course, higher the chances of getting selected.

- For instance, for categories like SC, ST, and OBC there are lower cutoff criteria and preferences allotted for students' admissions.

- Alongside the JEE (Main) rankings, the candidates also must be eligible for admission on the basis of the institute's requirement in terms of educational qualifications, age limit, and so on. - The students are selected through their performance in the JEE Main test. The candidates are required to pass JEE Main, which is a prerequisite for them to qualify for JEE Advanced by securing a qualifying score.
