Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) is a centrally funded technical college situated in Longowal of the state of Sangrur of Punjab, India. SLIET is a institute of higher learning with over 25 years of existence that offers Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in the fields of engineering and technology. In this institute, we give a strong emphasis on skills sets development and the industry connected course.

SLIET provides a 4-year program of BTech in Computer Science and Engineering with the area of specialization within cyber security, cloud computing, and data science. The mid term and finals are conducted in the last semester of each academic year in December and May, respectively. A massively sold course, the BTech in Mechanical Engineering with specializations in thermal engineering, machine design, and production engineering is also a renowned course. 

In January 2024, the admissions for batch 2024 will begin. Admission is determined by JEE Main exam scores along with the results in JoSAA or Joint Seat Allocations. Along with this, few seats are kept for male and female domiciles of Punjab. Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024

- Educational Qualification: The applicants have to have passed 10+2 or similar level examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as its part of the curriculum.

- Minimum Marks: Students must be secured with a minimum of sixty marks aggregate (55 marks for SC/ST candidates) in 10+2 or equivalent exam.

- Entrance Exams: An aspiring candidate needs to have appeared in the JEE Main or GATE examination and qualified among top ranks in order to get admission to the B.Tech courses. The candidates of diploma programs are require to participate in the SLIET entrance exam organized by their institution. 

- Age Limit: There are no set higher age restrictions for admittoin.

- Subjects Required: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics which are essential subjects for entrance to technical degree programs, are mandatory in +2 level of studies. For diploma, a math course is needed as well as two vocational subjects in the same order.

- Categories: Seats are reserved at the SC/ST, OBC, PH statuses as per government rules.

- State Quota: The seats should be at least 60% for candidates who have met the requirement of 10+2 or equivalent examination from schools in Punjab.

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology Admission Process 2024

1. Admission to SLIETs BTECH programs is entirely based on statement of scores from JEE Main exams. To be enrolled in SLIET, students should have to send an application form along with their JEE Main scorecard.

2. Admission into MTech courses is based on the performance on the GATE examination. Candidates must fill up and submit online application form of SLIET separately along with their GATE scorecard.

3. For BTech candidates, they should have passed either class 10+2 or equivalent in less relevant stream which is PCM as minimum aggregate marks equal to 60%.

4. The shortlisted applicants are supposed to hold a BTech/BE or equivalent degree with speciality field equivalent and the aggregate should not be less than 60% for MTech.

5. Along with entrance examination scores, SLIET also pays heed to the ranks in qualifying examination, personal interview, and other aptitude tests to compile the merit list for admission.

6. Seat allocation is conducted in several counseling sessions where candidates have to go through a process of selecting their desired but available branch/program depending on their merit.

7. Among the selected candidates the applicants must finalize the admission process by submission of all the required documents along with the admission fee as per the given date.
