The National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is an autonomous public technical institution in India, which is the 31st National Institutes of Technology. Established in 1967 with a mandate to educate and train engineers, it was later granted a status of NIT in 2002. With the hope, by the year 2024 NIT Silchar will be at the top 10 NITs of India is renowned for its proficiency in technical education, research, and innovations.
The institute at present delivers BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD programs in mixtures of engineering, science, and arts. Envisioning the next 2 years, NIT Silchar proposes to include AI, Robotics and Data Science as additional BTech programs in 2024. NIT Silchar Eligibility Criteria 2024
For BTech programs: Written in advanced level (12+2) Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and settled the score of at least 75% (65% for SC/ST). Eligable to sit for entrance examination of JEE Main.
For MTech programs: Graduation/postgraduate degree in the concerned discipline with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST candidates). Qualified in GATE exam.
For MSc programs: Undertake undergraduate study in relevant subject area. Categories and programs are allotted between the range of 50-60% marks; the cutoff varies.
For PhD: Master's degree in the given discipline or field must have full marks of minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST). NIT Silchar wrote a letter, recommending me to this specific University, as per my marks evaluation and the interaction during the interview.
