NIT Trichy Eligibility Criteria 2024

- Applicants who have passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 75% aggregated marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are required for B.Tech programs.

- A candidate should at least have a BTech/BE or equivalent degree in the respective field with at least 60% marks for MTech programs.

- The entrance requirement for MSc is a BSc or equivalent with an overall mark of at least 60%.

- There are also certain relaxations in percentile scores in the case of a SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories as per the Government’s norms.

- Similarly, students awaiting for their final year 10+2 exams results can also apply. However, provisional admission of such students will depend upon meeting the concerned-marks criteria.

- Also, a candidates will have to score a minimum in a national level entrance exam among JEE Main (for BTech), GATE (for MTech) and others as the requirement for each program.

- Besides that candidates are required to meet the conditions such as age cap, character certificate and medical fitness, they are also advised to read the admission notification for the details of the rules.

NIT Trichy Admission Process 2024

- Admission are offered based on the JEE Main exam scores/rank. JEE-Main is the first stage for the students to qualify and appear hereafter.

- Students with JEE Main rank of the top 2.5 lakh among 10 lakh qualified students can take JEE Advanced for BTech admissions. Admission onto various IITs are given away as per the order of JEE Advanced Rank.

- Usually, programs like MTech relies on the strength of GATE scores in the selection process. While CAT/MAT scores are some of these tests evaluated.

- In counseling, younglings need to select their preferred NIT Trichy progams and branches at the specified time. The candidature of students are accepted based on JEE rank, the given preference of students' and finally available seats remaining after applying them all.

- The classes, seats are reserved for certain categories like OB/SC/ST as mandated by the govt.

- The institute provides 4 years of BTech, 5 years of Dual Degree, 2 years of Mtech, 2 years of MBA and the Phd programs. Mainstream ones, among which are Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Civil, etc., are the most common.

- NITT, too, admits candidates, sponsored under PF/MMF programme, for MTech/MBA students who can continue working as well.
