Hotel Management is an undergraduate program which takes 3 years to complete, and it provides education on different aspects of a hotel such as front office, housekeeping services, food production, food and service, and general management of the hotel. It is a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge as students attend classes and at the same time get hands-on experience in functional hotels. 

Similar programs comprise of hospitality management, tourism, event management, and food services and professional cooking. Admission procedure: Admission normally takes place on the basis of merit obtained in 10+2 examination in any stream with 50% marks minimum. Although, some colleges have their own standard examination that they use to select their students. As for the documents submitted along with the admission application form, the student should enclose his/her 10th and 12th standard mark sheets, school leaving certificate, character certificate and migration certificate in case the student has passed from some other board.
