The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, which is shortened as WB JECA, conducts common entrance exam for students seeking admission in UG Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, and Architectural programs at various colleges and Universities of West Bengal. Introduced in 2017, the MERIT, which is patterned after the UGC-NATIONAL LEVEL JEE exams.
The WB JECA exam consists of two papers namely Paper 1 for admission to UG engineering programs and Paper 2 for admission to UG pharmacy and architecture programs . It assays as students in all subjects including physics, chemistry, math and aptitude. The exam will be administered once a year, often in the months of April or May. The applications start in January.
For the session 2024 examination, details including application window, admit card publication, date of exam, publication of answer key and result would be declared by the Board at the end of the year 2023 and would be available on their official website www.wbjee.nic.in. Assessing a candidate via a WB JECA test is an eligibility condition for enlargement in top engineering, pharmacy and architecture colleges of West Bengal.

- You have to know for sure the name and the address of the exam center including the most effective route to avoid problems on exam day. If you want to visit the spot before the actual date, it is a good idea.
- Get all the documents, ID proofs and admit cards (important) arranged at night before and keep them ready. Remark that you do not forget your mask.
- Make sure that you have a good night’s sleep the night before the test. Stick to a healthy dinner and refrain from eating slow burning foods that may induce sleep.
- So have you prepared well to wake up early, get dressed and reach the spot in time and leave with enough of spare time to be at the center. Account for traffic/transport delays.
- On center, please do strictly the stand by all the instructions which given by invigilators and authorities. Ensure that you comply with every rule and COVID-safety protocol.
- Try to be in a calm state before the exam. Organization of time is crucial, be wearing a watch/check clocks to ensure you do not go too fast.
- Re-read the questions carefully before selecting the correct option. Consider skipping and coming back to the question, if a delay in decision could save you from mistakes. The same rule applies to paper-based tests.
