The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board Conducts Common Entrance Exam (WB JECA) is not just the public examination for admission to government and private engineering and technical courses in West Bengal but also the common entrance test for admission to undergraduate courses in West Bengal. The national matriculation exam is held annually at the beginning of June. The WB JECA exam consist of two papers of the sections- Paper 1 for Mathematics and Paper 2 for Physics and Chemistry. Students have to maintain an average in both tests to be admitted or accepted into the program. The paper is structured on the base of the subjects of Class 11th and 12th English, Mathematics and Science of West Bengal boards curriculum. 

In 2024, roughly 1.1 lac candidates were to appear in the WB JECA exam per year. The conduction of the results was in the online mode in August 2020 and the official site could be taken as a reference. Students may log in to check their results using application number and date of birth as the input. Unlike other years, this time, the candidate should expect the notification to be released in February-March 2024, which is likely to be 2-4 weeks earlier than the previous year. Follows this will be the examination dates scheduled for the last week of June 2024. Results might be reached by the end of the first week, or perhaps the beginning of the second week of August 2024. Engineers hadn’t heard from the college administration regarding seat allocation and counseling session after result announcement for the admission to engineering colleges.
