JEMAT is an entrance test organized at the university level for joining MBA and PGDM programs at multiple IIMs and Private B-schools in India. It is carried out by the Alumni Office of IIT Roorkee through which candidates selected to appear are pre-screened and shortlisted for the admission process.
The JEMAT examination evaluates a candidate’s aptitude in quantitative ability, logical reasoning, and English proficiency which are the primary requisites to join the best graduate programs in management. The exam is of objective type which is of multiple choice type. The test consists of approximately 100 true/false, multiple-choice, and fill-in-the-blank questions, and it takes two hours to complete the entire test.
The findings of JEMAT test include the entire percentile score and also the individual sectional scores. The examination dates are available in the month of January and February likely every year as the past years. Later, the selected candidates then apply to the preferred institute that embeds JEMAT scores in the eligibility criteria and go through the group discussion/personal interview sessions run by the specific colleges. The last step will be to see if one makes the grade after the tests in these various areas.
