Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry

Joint Entrance Examination for the Lateral Entry (JELET) is an examination conducted for giving chance into the second year (lateral entry) of undergraduate engineering degree programs into participating institutes in Odisha, India. The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Board (OJEEB) conducts the examination. The examination is a two-section paper-based examination, which consists of either Physics, and one of the two subjects, Mathematics or Chemistry. Students however are not penalized for a wrong answer. Approximately 8,000-10,000 boys and girls will do the examination each year to get admission to more than 100 government and private engineering colleges, which are present all over the state. 

In two years from now May of 2024, JELET is to take place. Inside a month, students will be able to fill in their application forms online and sit for the exam a few days before. The candidates will be made to know the result in form of rank cards on the basis of their real score. In the next step, a counseling session will be organized for seat allocation and admission in the desired engineering college and program. Admission will be based on cut-off ranks set by participating higher education institutions. How to Apply For JELET Exam 2024?

1. Application & Registration Form
- Purchase of tickets for the festival will be available on the website from early March 2024 onwards.
- You have to hereby fill the application form by clicking the JELET application link online. Details like your name or address, contact information or academic data should be indicated.

2. Uploading Documents
- Attach your recent passport size photo, signature and the educational certificates (as per the requirement). Other documents must also be scanned and attached according to the specifications.

3. Application Fee Payment
- Now, submit your application online using credit / debit card, net banking or UPI. Application fee will offer an approximate rate of Rs. 500.

4. Print Confirmation Page
- When you are done submitting the application, print out your confirmation page which contains almost all the data you entered.

5. Admit Card
- JELET admit cards will be accessible for downloading from the website about 2 weeks or so prior to the exam.

6. Take the Exam
- Save the seat for JULIET 2024 on the paper date at the examination center listed in your invitation card.
