West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is conducted every year by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board for admission to undergraduate engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture programs in universities and colleges across West Bengal.

To be eligible for WBJEE 2024, the applicant must be an Indian citizen and must have passed or appeared for the final exam of Class 12th or equivalent qualifying exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as main subjects. There is no age limit. Applicants who have passed Class 12th in 2022, 2023, or are appearing in 2024 are eligible.

WBJEE Academic Requirements

  1. Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination (or equivalent) from a recognized board or university.

  2. Compulsory Subjects: Candidates must have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in their 10+2 curriculum.

  3. Optional Subjects: In addition to Physics and Mathematics, candidates must have one of the following subjects as an optional subject:

    • Chemistry
    • Biotechnology
    • Biology
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Application
  4. Minimum Marks: Candidates must obtain individual pass marks in all the above subjects. Moreover, they must secure a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the three subjects mentioned above (Physics, Mathematics, and the optional subject).

  5. Year of Qualifying Examination: The year of passing the 10+2 examination should be within the time frame specified by the WBJEE authorities.

B.Arch. Passed or appeared in the 12th standard examination (or equivalent) with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one of the following subjects: Fine Arts, Drawing, Painting, or Sculpture. Minimum aggregate marks of 50% (40% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics taken together. Minimum of 30% marks in English (for all categories).
B.Pharm. Passed or appeared in the 12th standard examination (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics. Minimum aggregate marks of 45% (40% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics taken together. Minimum of 30% marks in English (for all categories).
B.Tech. in Marine Engineering Passed or appeared in the 12th standard examination (or equivalent) from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Minimum aggregate marks of 60% in PCM with individual pass marks in all three subjects. Minimum of 50% marks in English as a subject in either in Class 10th or Class 12th.
