Eligibility:

- You should possess a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) from a Bachelors’s degree in Science/Engineering field.

ISM Dhanbad - Indian Institute of Technology, Jharkhand Master of Science [M.Sc] Selection Criteria

- Admitting students will be based on the national-wide entrance exam which will be called Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM). This is a month-long residential program that is carried out by the IITs.

- Student will then be assigned to a seat in one of the IITs or ISM Dhanbad according to their JAM score and preference respectively. The minimum qualifying is a degree in bachelors with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST respectively).

- Some M.Sc programs at ISM Dhanbad is open only for a select category of candidates having a valid GATE score in relevant branches. These candidates need to apply directly. List of candidates who’s name is in the shortlist need to appear for the interview process.

- Admission decision is the final step and includes different criteria for various specializations, but in general, it depends on performance in the exam, academic record, and relevant subjects' marks, as well as the interview results, if GATE score is available. 

- By the same token, it is likely that there may be some degree of emphasis given to work experience in some programs.

- Once candidates receive confirmation of the designated positions, then other admission procedures which may include the document upload, payments and enrollment by the prescribed dates must be accomplished.
