The Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Kancheepuram ( IIITDM Kancheepuram) is Institute of National Importance institution founded in 2007 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. IIITDM Kancheepuram is UGC approved and has NAAC accreditation of an “A” grade. In the NIRF Rankings 2023 which were released recently, IIITDM Kancheepuram stood at rank 41 out of all the engineering Colleges in the country.  

The IIITDM Kancheepuram is currently involved in offering programmes in the under and post graduate levels across different areas of design and manufacturing. Currently offered BTechspecializations include Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Smart Manufacturing. They accept students on the basis of their score in JEE Main. The MTech Programmes and PhD Programmes offered are across domains like Embedded Systems, VLSI Design, CAD/CAM, Robotics, etc. Entrance tests are held in May of 2023 and most of the Post Graduate programmes have the last date to apply is in the month of April 2023. In this case, the processes of selection include the GATE scores, written tests, and interviews. 

Placement is one of the many strengths of IIITDM Kancheepuram wherein students have high chances of getting placed. Recruitment trend of IIITDM Kancheepuram BTech and MTech students: According to the placement statistics of the year 2022, around 80 percent of the eligible students got placed. While the highest salary package offered went up to approximately Rs 290000 per annum and. Some of the prime recruiters encompass Whiteboard Technologies, Bosch, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Paytm, Zoho, TCS, Infosys, and Cognizant. The pay scale of the candidates with BTech and MTech degrees is between 8-10 lakhs annually.
