Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya (GKV) is a deemed University and is located at Haridwar in the state of Uttarakhand. GKV was establised in 1902.this university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and got the accreditation grade ‘A’ by NAAC. The NIRF rankings 2023 show that GKV has been placed on the 83rd rank in the list of universities in India. 

Some of the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs that are available in GKV are as follows Vedic Literature, Philosophy & Culture, Sanskrit Computational Linguistics, Yoga, Fine Arts, Management, Commerce, Science, and Education. Some of the common courses are Bachelor of Arts in Sanskrit, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Arts in Philosophy, Master of Science in Botany and Doctor of Philosophy programs among others. As for the exams, the university provides semester exams twice a year, and they are in November and May. The admission process begins in May for the intended academic session that begins in July. We invite applications for the following courses BALLB, BSc., BA, BCom., MA, MSc., MCom., etc. Some of the programs have entrance tests.

The placement cell of GKV is quite functional and allows final year students to be recruited through campus placement. Wipro, Infosys, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, etc are some of the organizations that take part in campus recruitment drives annually. The maximum salary provided was about 120000 whereas the average salary was about 400000 to 600000 per annum. The total percentage of students who got placed in reputed firms in 2022 through on- campus and off- campus recruitment drives is 85%+. The major sectors that provide jobs are Information technology, Banking, Education, Sales/Marketing, Tourism & Hotel Industries.
