Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT) is one of the renowned engineering colleges in Pune, Maharashtra. PICT was Established in 1983 it is an autonomous college and was accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE and is affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University. PICT is an ‘A’ graded Institution by NAAC, ranked 93rd in Engineering by NIRF 2023 Ranking. The institute imparts education in the Computer Engineering, Information Technology Electronics and Telecommunication, Instrumentation and Control, Mechanical, etc at undergraduate and postgraduate level. 

The college provides four-year B.Tech courses in computer science engineering, IT, Electronics & telecom, instrumentation control, and mechanical streams. It is worthwhile to note that admissions into these programs are based on MHT-CET examination and centralized counselling session. Two year full time M.Tech programs are also provided by PICT in various disciplines of engineering. They have M.Tech programs which are offered based on the GATE/PG-CET scores. It has an intakes capacity of over 1200 students. MHT – CET exam date will be from April 15th to 17th, 2023 for the admission in 2024 and CAP rounds for seat allotment will start from 3rd week of June onwards. In most cases the applications are usually done in February of every year.

The placement status of this institute, PICT, is quite good as it provide placement to more than 80% of the students every year. Many big companies such as TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, L&T Infotech and so on visit the college for campus recruitment. The maximum salary package offered to the candidates was 48 LPA whereas the average was 8 LPA. The students also avail pre-placement offers from the reputed companies before the final placement.

Pune Institute of Computer Technology Placements 2024

PICT is reputed for having one of the best placement records and many renowned companies both local and international visit the Institute every year for placement. The placement, as of 2021-22 saw more than 98 percent of the total student turned up for placements with the highest package going up to Rs 29 lakhs per annum by Microsoft. Some of the other leading recruiters are Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy services, Cognizant and Capgemini and so on. In the case of salary details, an average salary package of Rs 6.5 lakhs per annum was offered to the students. More than 150 companies take part in placements at PICT with a demand for core engineering roles, and IT/Software positions.
