Indian Agri-U. Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, situated at Pantnagar in Uttarakhand, is the name of one of the most renowned agricultural universities in India. The institute was formally launched in 1960 and has had a significant impact in the areas of agriculture education, research and extension activities in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. The university runs a range of undergrad and postgrad programs through relevant departments such as Agronomy, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Vet Sciences, Home Science, and Basic Sciences etc. The two more popular courses are BTech in Agriculture Engineering and MSc in Agriculture Economics. 

The BTech Agricultural Engineering course emphasizes the application of the engineering theory to the agriculture projects that include machines for farm work, irrigation systems, food processing technology etc. The MSc Agriculture Economics program, which analyzes the economic aspects of agriculture like production, consumption, distribution logistics, trade, and policy-making, is another program offered.

Admission to the 2024 batch requires all aspirants to appear in the entrance exam which is likely to be held in May- June 2023. - It is imperative that students seeking admission to B.Sc. Agriculture Programme should have passed Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics in 10th+2 or equivalent exam. Differed by category they are.

- This case is no different for the BTech programs, and candidates need to have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The minimum percentage ranges between 60-65%, which depends on the program. 

- Along with this some programs also have agriculture related subjects at +2 stage as basic eligibility.

- Candidates applying for MS and PhD programs should in most cases possess a bachelor's or master's degree with the necessary grades. The required grades depend on the program and the category you want to join. 

- Such things as percentages required are listed for candidates coming from reserved groups (section 4). These should also be applicable for those with relevant experience.

- University also runs its entry test for some programs as an admission gateway. The scores from the exit exam is considered along with 10+2 or graduation scores.

Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Admission Process 2024

1. Admissions are given five undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the agronomy stream in every year.

2. For undergraduate programs state level has an entry avenue through exams. Candidates must consequently clear UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) or JEE Mains that checks candidates and declares cutoff to be considered.

3. The test of knowledge is conducted by the university for the admission to post graduate programs like MSc and PhD - it is the GBPUAT Entrance Exam. Candidates are chosen from high scoring ones and lastly called for psychometric testing.

4. Besides the grades from entrance examinations, candidates also have to make sure that they have fulfilled the criteria about academic qualifications, age limits or domicile requirements, which are the requirements for the admissions. 

5. The choice for candidates of the specialization and college will be made on the basis of the merit and availability of the seats during the counseling and while the candidates will be physically present.

6. Reserve seats are allocated for SC, ST and OBC candidates based on a government norm. Besides that, there Is a part of the seats for the candidates who have been supported by ICAR as well. 

7. Several people get admission into the university without paying the fee. Instead, a chosen candidate is given space in the university; this space is left vacant by the applicant if they fail to confirm their admission with this prompting the university to allot the spot to the next eligible person.

8. The university provide many schemes of scholarship for the brilliant students from poor half to help of their education.
