Located in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Ranchi University is a state public university of the state which has have been established in 1960. A vibrant network of more than 150 affiliated colleges makes it possible for the university to provide both undergraduate and post graduate courses in multiple disciplines. Being quite popular, the BA Honours in Economics renders a strong theoretical and practical knowledge in economics. The Zoology Honours, which is also one of the popular programmes, focuses on biology and physiology of animals, development, genetics, and diversity of animals. 

Our training programs for school teachers and those for higher education teachers are assessed annually in March-April. The supplementary exams for both programs are therefore held in August-September. For the 2024 batch, the tentative exam dates are: BA Economics - Primary exams from March 15th to April 5th, 2024 and Supplementary exams from September 1st to 15th, 2024; BSc Zoology - Key Exams from March 20th to April 10th, 2024 and Extension Exams from August 20th to September 5th,

The admission begins with the dossiers opening on May-June 2023 2023. Ranchi University Eligibility Criteria 2024

- The students must have passed 10+2 with a recognized board and must follow all the university requirements to be eligible for admission to various UG programmes including BA, BSc or B.Com (as applicable and with the mentioned scores).

- In order to join, the MA, MSc and MCom obtainable in the concerned discipline, you must have a bachelor's degree attained from the recognized institution with standard mark or percentage as per agreement.

- For MPhil and Ph.D. - at least an MPhil in the appropriate discipline or marks of 55% or more for qualifying score in the concerned subject Entrance Test / Research Aptitude Test / Written Examination. Not only the qualification exams associated with entrance test ought to be qualified, but also as university requires these type of tests.

- For professional and specialized courses such as BE/BTech, MBBS the same qualifications are required but for the10+2 it this is passed with physics, chemistry, math/biology subject and the minimum marks as sets by the universities/regulatory councils. - Ranchi University provides a wide range of bachelors, masters and PhD programs in many different streams of discipline such as art, science, commerce, law, pedagogy, etc.

- The admission for undergraduate programs is largely enrolled based on the result of class 12th Board examinations. In addition to that, the university may not need to take its own exam, as it can carry out it for some training programs.

- In case of graduate programs the majority of departments run Their own admission exams. Some departments may reserve some positions basis on their undergraduate marks.

- The university runs the project in order to release the admission notifications on their website or through newspaper ads which happen around May-June each year. The application move starts usually at the end of June.

- The students have to fill up the form online or present it at the university office to get it. Proper and timely submission of relevant documents and application fees is required.
