Indraprastha Institute of Technology Delhi (IIIT-D) is a top information technology institute which was founded in 2008 by the NCT of Delhi. IIIT-Delhi provides a 4-year B.Tech program that focuses on computer science and engineering principles as well as providing access to latest technology solutions such as AI, machine learning, and cyber security.

1. The admissions will be carried out through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for eligible candidates depending on their JEE Main score. The participation in JEE Main is possible only for those students who got their JEE scores for having declined their registrations.
2. Besides the fact that a sizable amount of JEE Main points will be taken into account, the student should also have scored at least a 60% (55% for SC/ST) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
3. Selected candidates will be undergoing common counseling and the preferred seats will be assigned, depending on JEE Main score, preferences filled by the candidate, number of available seats, reservation policies etc.
4. Having undergone seat allotment, candidates will then carry out the admission formalities at the institution by giving necessary documents and paying the fees by the given deadline.
5. Later, all spots could be determined in a specially prepared round if some seats still remain empty. The candidates who were denied entry earlier are also able to participate in the Spot Round in complying with the rules and as per the open seats.

IIIT Delhi offers a full time Ph.D. program in areas such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, and Human-Centered Design among others. The wide topic areas of research are the algorithms, artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, computer networks, VLSI systems, image processing, and human computer interaction among others.
The minimum duration of the Ph.D. program is 3years for students with a Master's degree and 5years for students with a Bachelor's degree. Students have to undertake coursework in the first 1-2 semesters before they get to work on their research under the guidance of their professors. A program is composed of advanced classes, comprehensive exam, research proposal, thesis work and final defense.

1. Candidate shall have a postgraduate degree in computer science, electronics, mathematics or related subjects with high academic record.
2. The shortlisted candidates have to appear for an entrance test comprising written test and personal interview. The written test includes subjects related to the candidate's field and area of research interest.
3. During the interview, the candidates are evaluated on parameters like research aptitude, understanding of essential concepts, communication skills, academic record, etc.
4. As candidates submit Statement of Purpose, Letters of recommendation to support their statement of research interest/capabilities.
5. Areas of PhD that IIIT-Delhi is working on are computer science and engineering, electronics and communications, computational biology, applied mathematics, etc.
6. The selected PhD scholars are provided with a fellowship for the whole duration of the PhD as per the norms of the institute.
7. A policy of reservation for different categories in line with Government of India rules is applied while the selection is carried out.

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Master of Technology [M.Tech] Selection Criteria

1. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is taken for access to the course. Candidates have to secure a GATE score which is valid for application.
2. Those applicants who have been shortlisted have to appear for an interview round which will be conducted by IIIT Delhi. The candidate is interviewed to determine his or her technical knowledge, interest and practicality.
3. In the final selection 40% weightage is given to the GATE score, 30% to the academic background and performance , 20% to any relevant experience and research exposure and finally the last 10% is given to the interview performance.
4. There is no need to have any work experience but the relevant industry/research exposure will be given a high priority during the assessments. Also, fresh graduates may be eligible to be selected, provided he meets other criteria.
5. IIIT Delhi has M.Tech program in various sub-specializations like Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Computational Biology, to name a few. Norms might differ depending on the discipline concerned.
6. Moreover, the admission process necessitates students to have minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying UG degree. Relaxation for up to 5% of time in some extraordinary cases will be done by the institute.
