1. Educational Qualification: Candidates may have passed 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 60% aggregate in discipline subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
2. For BTech programs: Along with this, the candidates also need to have appeared in JEE Mains exam and scored the minimum marks as prescribed.
3. For MTech programs: The candidates need to have a BTech/BE degree in the specialization with the minimum of 60% marks. The GATE qualified candidates are usually preferred.
4. Nationality: Indian national aspirants are applicable. Other foreign nationals may too apply through the DASA scheme of Direct Admission of Students Abroad.
5. Other criteria: The university neglects to conduct an entrance test for BTech/MTech admissions. Reservation will be in accordance with Delhi/Central government regulations in categories like SC/ST, OBC, PwD etc.

1. The students are chosen based on their marks and rankings either in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains or other national/state level entrance tests.
2. Following the publication of test results, IGDTU discloses application forms with the cut-off date as well as other information related to admission on its website.
3. To apply, students should fill the application form either on line or off line depending on instruction. This involves the payment of an application fee.
4. The selection is based on the examination scores and ranks. The candidates are then provisionally shortlisted depending on the BTech courses such as Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Engineering, et cetera.
5. After the students are shortlisted, they need to go through a centralized counseling (joint seat allocation) process conducted by the university to secure the final admission.
6. On the time of allocation of the seat, the candidate is supposed to pay the admission/tuition fee and get admission to college by submitting other required documents like 10th and 12th marks Sheets, exam scorecard, Aadhar card, etc. within stipulated time period.
7. There is another application procedure for sponsored applicants as well as NRI/Foreign candidates aiming to apply for 2nd year lateral entry.
