Dharmsinh Desai University (DDU) is one of the private universities established in the year 1995 located in Nadiad, Gujarat. It was set up in 1968 and is duly affiliated to the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has got the accreditation of ‘A’ grade from NAAC. In the NIRF rankings 2023 for universities, DDU has a position of 76 among universities in India. It holds more than thirty-six undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in the diverse faculties of engineering, pharmacy, management, computer applications and other disciplines. 

DDU is a major university that provides students with multiple courses including the BTech programs such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & IT, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering as well as Chemical Engineering. The Institute also provides MTech, MPharm, MBA, MCA and PhD courses for the students. The most common examinations are GUJCET for engineering, GPAT for pharmacy, CAT for MBA, and NPAT for other fields. It is usually done every January, and it is a lengthy process that involves the following steps. Hence, the group discussion and personal interview form the next step in the selection process after the entrance examinations before the final merit list is compiled. 

DDU has a record of placing its graduates at some of the trendiest industries which include Reliance, L&T, GSK Pharma, Apotex Research, SciMetrika and many more. Total no. of students placed through campus recruitment drives in 2023 is above 500 and the highest pay package offered is INR 43.5 LPA and average is 6.5 LPA. The major sectors which recruit are core engineering, software development industries, pharma & drug, consulting, FMCG and few IT companies. The achievements made by the institute are evident from the fact that the placement ratio for the candidates who meet the required criteria usually crosses 85%. Internship is also another option available to the students and these are also arranged by the placement cell and different departments.
