Assam University is a central University established in the year 1994 located in Silchar of the state Assam. It has been set up in 1994 and is approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC) & is accredited with the grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the year 2016. According to NIRF Ranking System 2023 for Indian Universities, the Assam University was ranked at 101-150 band. As a premier university of the country, the university provides a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in humanities, social sciences, sciences, technology and professional study.
The university teaches courses such as BA, BSC, BCOM, MA, MSC, MCOM, MTECH, MBA, and PhD in English, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Social Work, Business Administration and so on.
