The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi is the premier public medical institute in India that was founded in 1956. 1. Entrance Exam
Students are required to undergo the entrance examination administered by AIIMS New Delhi which is termed as AIIMS MBBS entrance exam. It is an annual nationwide examination which is highly competitive.
2. Merit Based
Selection is purely merit-based. It is on the basis of the scores/rank secured in the entrance examination.
3. Minimum Cut Offs
There is no specific passing mark cut-off but the AIIMS releases the lowest qualifying percentile/score for the general and reserved categories separately. If candidates manage this, they are still qualified.
4. Seat Allocation
Given a merit list, first preferences, and seat availability, the admissions are allotted to the candidates who qualify the MBBS program of AIIMS Delhi and other AIIMS across India.
5. Counseling
Students shortlisted are called for the rounds of counseling. The seats are allotted according to merit, preferences, ranks, and quotas during the counseling processes such as document verification etc.
