INI CET which is a common entrance test of applied nature is conducted at the national level by the Institute of National Importance where admission to post graduate medical courses is based on test performance of students in renowned institutes like AIIMS, PGIMER, JIPMER, NIMHANS, etc. It is not rare that almost 80,000 students with an intention to be involved in this very competitive examination yearly are being tested in a wide range of subjects like physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, community medicine, etc with 180 multiple choice questions. The test is computerized based and duration is set to 3-hours.
The second phase in the INI admission process is based on the INI CET score where the candidates participate in counseling for the seat allotment across multiple INIs. The exam typically takes place in the month of May, and the outcome is generally declared in the month of June. It is quite probable that INI CET, the admission notification, will be relaased in December, and the applications could start in January. The INI CET entrance test for the year 2024 is most probably going to be commenced in the month of May 2024. We can expect the results to be declared by the end of first week of June 2024 for the new 2024-25 session beginning in July 2024. You will be informed about schedule before the exam itself.
