1. It is JEE Main score/rank which contributes to the process of admission. The only condition is that students have to write JEE Main and qualify with required rank / cutoff.
2. All the seats are allocated centrally by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) in the centralized counseling. The counseling proceeds with JEE Main rank of the students and their preferences.
3. The distribution for seats would be as follows: 85% through JEE Main merit; 10% reserved for candidates from Delhi region; 5% for foreign nationals and PIOs.
4. Among these 85% of seats SC, ST, OBC, EWS etc. play their role as per the rules of Delhi Government.
5. For the top 10% quota of seats reserved for Delhi students, they need to have completed their Class 12 in one of the Delhi schools and fulfill the minimum cutoff for their category.
6. Along with the JEE Main score, there are no other tests or selection criteria except the marks required for B.Tech admissions at NSUT. The procedure relies solely on a student’s JEE Main rank and allotted seat through counseling.

Netaji Subhas University of Technology Ph.D Selection Criteria

1. The applicants need to hold an MTech, BE, or similar degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA as a minimum qualification. Candidates may also apply to the BTech degree if they have an outstanding academic record with the exception.
2. In an interview, the candidates will be gauged based on his or her proficiency in research, research field, research question, and research methods. As for the candidates, it will be their turn to come up with their research ideas.
3. Ultimately, a decision about the candidate consists of the results of the written test, an interview and a candidate's academic record and relevant experience.
4. As per Delhi/GOI norms, reservation criteria shall also be for candidates under the reserved categories. Moreover, few seats are also for sponsored candidates.
5. Selected PhD fellows have to pass through the coursework process before starting their research. Periodic presentations, progress report as per NSUT PhD regulations is used in order to monitor students' progress.
