Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS) is a private institution of deemed university situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. KITS, which is a college established in 1986, offers more than hundred UG, PG, and PhD programs in various disciplines namely- engineering, technology, management, science, and humanities. Not only does the KITS feature a vast natural campus, but the college also has top-notch infrastructure and facilities that are up-to-date. It is skill-based experiential learning that is addressed directly by the industry and academic partnerships.

In KITS, educational programs for school leavers consist of two courses: B.Sc in Computer Science and Engineering and MBA in Marketing. The B.Tech CSE program offers an intensive training course in programming, data structures, algorithms, and database systems. However, the MBA Marketing program covers fundamental areas such as consumer psychology, brand management, digital marketing, and retail management. 

The exams for even semester are scheduled during the October-November months and the exams for odd semester are conducted in April-May time period every year.

Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences Eligibility Criteria 2024

- Educational Qualification: Aspirants are required to have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects. The aggregate percentage may vary with the program.

- Entrance Exams: Through KITS, students with scores from SAT, JEE Main, etc. are accepted. Students need to qualify in the required cutoff to participate in the program as well as the choice of exam they wish to use.

- Age Limit: There is no regulation stating the age limit for whose admissions will be taken into account. While the candidates must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31st of the admission year is the eligibility condition.

- Residence: The admission is open to candidates from anywhere in India – be it any state (or union territory). Some courses, for example BArch, man have the requirements that a candidate meet a state of eligibility before they can be able to enroll. 

- Medical Standards: Candidates must have medical fitness and they will go through specific medical tests at the time of admission as per the list of tests given by the institution.

Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences Admission Process 2024

- Admission is through the Karunya Entrance Exam (KEE) and the applicants can apply online. Once a year during the university exam season, we go through it.

- Besides KEE, admissions also depend on annual scores of 12th standards (or equivalent). There are weightages allotted to different things like KEE and 12th for different programs.

- The KEE test is based on aptitude, logical reasoning, and communication skills in English. The event is celebrated during April when it’s a mix of online and pen-paper-based activities.

- KEE ranks and the scores/grades of the 12th follow up each other to produce the merit lists that are prepared for admissions program-wise. Moreover there are merit lists for reserved categories of the admission process as well. 

- In Btech admissions - 60% weightage is given to KEE (Karnataka Engineering Entrance Test) score and 40% for PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) scores of 12th both equally. The weighting scheme of 30 to 50 marks is assigned to the previous 12th grade scores for other UG courses.

- Along with merit-based admissions for Indian students, Karunya also is welcoming foreign students on the ground of 12th grade results. Meanwhile, there are distinct merits for them
