Sambalpur University 2024: Admission, Courses, Fees & Rankings

SUS is a state university which is situated at Sambalpur, Odisha, India. It was established in the year 1967 and now it is recognized by the University grant Commission, New Delhi. It is noteworthy that the Sambalpur University has recently attained the grade ‘A’ accreditation from NAAC or the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. As per the NIRF Rankings of 2023, the university has been placed in the NIRF 101-150 universities category for universities in India. 

It provides multiple undergraduate and postgraduate courses encompassing arts, science, commerce, law, education, engineering and many others as well as research programmes. The common courses that are offered include: undergraduate programs like BA, BSc, BCom, BTech, LLB, post graduate like MA, MSc, MCom, MTech and PhD. The admission process is typically started in the month of May every year and the exams are held between October- December. Such entrance examinations are: Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) that provides admission to various Under Graduate courses including BTech. Admission for the year 2024 will be available shortly on the official website for the students.  

Sambalpur University also has a placement cell which assists students in availing employment. Some of the top recruiters and companies that have considered the campus for recruitment exercise include the likes of Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Hindalco Industries, Vedanta Group among others. Coming to the salary offers, a few of the companies have offered up to around 18 LPA in 2022. This shows that more than 80% of the placed students got selected into reputed firms in 2022. The salary offered to the students was moderate to high and it was set at 4-6 lakhs per annum on an average. The placement cell also provides necessary assistance to the students for internships in the leading organization.
