Odisha Joint Entrance Examination

The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is conducted by the state government of Odisha for admissions into undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, management, pharmacy, architecture, medical and other professional courses offered by various institutes and universities across the state.
The OJEE 2024 syllabus will likely be similar to the 2023 syllabus with minor changes. For engineering admissions, the syllabus includes physics, chemistry and mathematics at +2 level covering core concepts in mechanics, optics, electrostatics, laws of thermodynamics, semiconductors, calculus, probability, coordinate geometry etc. The management entrance exam tests quantitative ability, verbal ability, reasoning and aptitude. Pharmacy admissions test candidates on biology and chemistry topics from 11th and 12th standard NCERT textbooks. Architecture and medical entrance exams assess applicants on logical reasoning, general awareness, visual perception and domain knowledge from respective subjects studied in senior secondary level.

    Engineering Mechanics Syllabus

    • Statics: This is the study of forces and moments acting on rigid bodies in equilibrium. Topics covered in statics include the free body diagram, equilibrium equations, and applications of statics to beams, trusses, and frames.
    • Dynamics: This is the study of motion of rigid bodies. Topics covered in dynamics include kinematics, kinetics, and applications of dynamics to vehicles, machinery, and structures.
    • Strength of Materials: This is the study of the behavior of materials under applied loads. Topics covered in strength of materials include stress, strain, elasticity, plasticity, and failure theories.
    • Machine Design: This is the design of machines and machine components. Topics covered in machine design include stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and lubrication.
    • Fluid Mechanics: This is the study of the behavior of fluids. Topics covered in fluid mechanics include fluid statics, fluid dynamics, and applications of fluid mechanics to pumps, turbines, and other fluid-driven machines.
    • Heat Transfer: This is the study of the transfer of heat. Topics covered in heat transfer include conduction, convection, and radiation.
