Baba Farid University of Health Sciences is a public college of medicine that is based at Faridkot in Punjab, India. Launched in the year 1998 it combines medical education and research services in the fields of dentistry, nursing, allied healthcare and others. The university has nine constituent colleges, four regional centers, seven community health centers, and the affiliated college programs more than 150 in number. 

The  university  has   a  full  spectrum  of  undergraduate  and  graduate  level  programs. The Medical faculty of the university runs two popular programs, the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) as well as the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). The one of the main fields of educational curriculum is to study subjects like anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology and community medicine and also clinical postings are to be done. The BDS program leads to graduates who possess the skills of diagnosis and treatment in the fields of oral medicine, radiology, pathology, periodontology, and preventive and community dentistry after successfully completing four academic years followed by one year of internship.  

The yearly exams for most of the BA, BSc, MBBS, and BDS programs are held in the months of March, April, and May. The university usually make the public list of the results within 2 months after the exams. While for the 2024 admission batch, we will start the applications in May, 2023. Candidates are supposed to sit for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), and be among the required percentage of the marks for the examination. After the short-listing of candidates, the topper's merit would be considered and then only candidates would be allotted places in our college for admission. The admission procedure would be concluded by September 2023 to be on a safer side.

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Eligibility Criteria 2024

For MBBS:

- For OBC category candidates, 50% weightage will be given to marks obtained in 12th standard subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English respectively. 

- NEET qualified.

For BDS:

- 50% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as individual fields in the final year (12th standard).  

- NEET qualified.

For B.Pharm:

- Out of 100 marks, 50% will be from Physics, Chemistry and one of the Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biology, in 10+2 board examination.

For Nursing courses:

- SSC with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

For Paramedical courses: 

- 10+2 in Science stream with minimum 45% of scores.

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Admission Process 2024

- Entry is considered on the basis of the performance in national medical entrance examinations including the NEET. Students are required to achieve the requisite cut-off marks and the norms of admission which have been set by the academic institution.

- Along with admission scores, a few colleges also look into 12th standard report cards, hobbies and interests, and entrance tests monitored by the university and college itself.

- The application procesus calues as almost a year ahead of the session. Students' data include filling app form and submission of documents.

- Meanwhile, colleges prepare the merit lists based on available seats and the scores. Then, they release the lists after the announcement of entrance exam results. Students are asked to select their course/college as per their merit, choices etc, and counseling rounds are held.
